Age Relaxation and Eligibility Criteria for New India Assurance Recruitment 2024
Age Limit (as on 01/12/2024):
- Minimum Age: 21 years
- Maximum Age: 30 years
- Candidates must have been born not earlier than 02/12/1994 and not later than 01/12/2003 (both dates inclusive).
Upper Age Relaxation:
The following relaxations in the upper age limit will be allowed for candidates belonging to specific categories:

Important Notes:
- The relaxation in upper age limit for SC / ST / OBC (Non-creamy layer) candidates is allowed on a cumulative basis with only one of the remaining categories for which age relaxation is permitted.
- Candidates seeking age relaxation must submit the necessary certificates at the time of the Regional Language Test and any subsequent stage of the recruitment process.
- Ex-Servicemen: If an Ex-Serviceman has once joined a government job after availing of benefits given to them as an Ex-Serviceman for re-employment, their Ex-Serviceman status for the purpose of re-employment in government ceases. However, they can still avail of age relaxation applicable to Ex-Servicemen.

Educational Qualification (as on 01/12/2024):
- Minimum Qualification: Graduation in any discipline from a recognized University or any equivalent qualification recognized by the Central Government.
- Candidates should have passed English as one of the subjects at SSC / HSC / Intermediate / Graduation level.
- Regional Language Proficiency: Candidates must have knowledge of reading, writing, and speaking the regional language of the state/UT they wish to apply for. A language test will be conducted before final selection. Candidates who do not meet the required proficiency in the regional language will be disqualified.
Selection Procedure for New India Assurance Company Limited Recruitment
The selection procedure for the recruitment of Assistants consists of two online examinations: Tier I (Preliminary Examination) and Tier II (Main Examination), followed by a Regional Language Test. Candidates who qualify in the Main Examination will be shortlisted for the Regional Language Test, which is qualifying in nature.
Tier I: Preliminary Examination (Online Objective Test)
The Preliminary Examination is conducted for 100 marks and consists of three sections. The exam will have a total duration of 60 minutes.

- Qualifying Marks: Candidates must obtain a minimum total score (as decided by the Company) to qualify for the Main Examination.
- Penalty for Wrong Answers: For each wrong answer, one-fourth of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted as a penalty. No marks will be deducted for un-attempted questions.
Regional Language Test (Qualifying in Nature)
- Candidates qualifying in the Main Examination will be called for the Regional Language Test, which will be conducted to assess the candidate’s proficiency in the regional language of the state or Union Territory they are applying for.
- This test is qualifying in nature, and no marks will be awarded for it.
- Candidates who do not qualify in the Regional Language Test will be disqualified from further stages of the selection process.
Final Selection:
- Merit List: The final merit list will be prepared state-wise and category-wise based on candidates’ performance in the Main Examination, subject to qualifying the Regional Language Test.
- Tie-breaking: If two or more candidates have equal marks in the merit list, the older candidate (by age) will be preferred for selection.
