The State Bank of India plans to recruit 10,000 new employees in the financial year 2024-25. This recruitment will cover various positions beyond just Probationary Officers (PO) and clerks, addressing the growing needs of everyday banking. The bank is also making significant investments in technology to enhance its digital channels.
In a recent statement to PTI, SBI Chairman CS Shetty remarked, “We are strengthening our workforce both on the technology front and in general banking. We have announced the recruitment of about 1,500 technology professionals at entry and slightly higher levels.”
He further elaborated, “Our technology recruitment will focus on specialized roles such as data scientists, data architects, and network operators. Our current requirement is around 8,000 to 10,000 positions.”
Shetty also mentioned that SBI plans to open 600 branches nationwide in the current financial year. As of March 2024, SBI boasts a network of 22,542 branches across the country.
While the bank has not officially disclosed specific posts for these recruitments, media reports suggest a range of opportunities will be available.
