  4. Direct ISIN Credit: Bonus shares will be credited directly to the permanent ISIN, eliminating the previous use of temporary ISIN.

JP Nadda Inaugurates the 2nd Global Food Regulators Summit 2024

Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare, Jagat Prakash Nadda (JP Nadda), inaugurated the Second Global Food Regulators Summit 2024 in New Delhi on 20-21 September 2024. This summit is organized alongside the 3rd World Food India 2024.

Key Highlights:

  • The valedictory session will be addressed by Rajiv Ranjan Singh (Lallan Singh), Union Minister for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry, and Dairying, on 21 September 2024.
  • The first edition of the summit took place in 2023 as a co-branded event with the G20 Summit.

Purpose of the Summit: The summit brings together food regulators from various countries to share information on food regulation and safety, promoting cooperation among regulatory bodies.

Organizers: The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI), an autonomous body under the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, is organizing the event.

Participants: Delegates from over 50 countries, including food regulatory bodies, risk assessment authorities, and research institutes, are participating. The Codex Alimentarius Commission, affiliated with the WHO and FAO, is also involved. Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, Director General of WHO, addressed the inaugural session virtually.

About FSSAI:

  • Established in 2008 under the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006.
  • Mandated to set science-based food standards and ensure safe and wholesome food for human consumption.
