  • The International Conference on Disaster Resilient Infrastructure (ICDRI), an annual event hosted by the Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure (CDRI), serves as a platform for governments, organizations, institutions, the media, and infrastructure stakeholders to discuss disaster and climate-resilient infrastructure.

C-DOT and IIT Jodhpur Collaborate on Automated Service Management in 5G and Beyond Networks Using AI:

  • C-DOT and Indian Institute of Technology, Jodhpur (IIT-J) sign an agreement under the Telecom Technology Development Fund (TTDF) of the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) for “Automated Service Management in 5G and Beyond Networks Using AI.”
  • This collaboration aims to leverage AI technology to provide insights into network planning and manage time-critical services in networks like 5G and beyond.
  • The agreement falls under the TTDF, designed to support domestic companies and institutions in developing and commercializing telecommunication products and solutions for affordable broadband and mobile services in rural and remote areas.

Papua New Guinea names its first defence advisor to India:

  • Papua New Guinea (PNG) has recently appointed its first defense advisor to India, Colonel Edison Napyo, succeeding Commodore Philip Polewara.
  • Colonel Napyo’s role will involve bridging the gap between the PNG government and its military, as stated by the Office of the Chief of Defence Force of Papua New Guinea.
  • This appointment coincides with the finalization of the India-Philippines BrahMos deal and China’s efforts to expand its presence in the Pacific region.

  • Tata Power Solar Systems, a leading Indian company in rooftop solar installations, will collaborate with Indian Bank to provide loans to customers for installing rooftop solar systems on their houses.
  • The PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana is a central government initiative launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on February 13, 2024.
  • The scheme aims to offer free electricity to one crore households across India, with households eligible to receive 300 units of free electricity per month by installing rooftop solar electricity generating units.
  • The government has allocated Rs 75,021 crore for the implementation of the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana.
